Summary of the job

Our customer is in the middle of a transition and therefore looking for a young Supply Chain talent who is able to bring change in the organization. You will contribute to the further development and implementation of the S&OP proces. You are pro-active and flexible and able to communicate on all levels of the organization.

The Supply Planner is responsible for the development of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) over an established rolling horizon period and agreed-upon frequency, with global product line focus. With a scope of 0-24 months, the Supply Planner is responsible for converting unconstrained, forecasted product Demand into feasible, capacity constrained short term and long term Supply Plans for the manufacturing sites. Working closely with the each site’s Production Planner and Operations, the Supply Planner role entails a focus on the optimization of both supply and inventory, to manage and balance European inventory by product line. The Supply Planner role has ultimate accountability for european inventory for assigned product lines; working with (local) Warehouse supervisors to ensure alignment of local stocking strategies and balanced inventory replenishment throughout the network. The Supply Planner is a key participant and contributor to the Sales & Operations Planning Process (S&OP). The position is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all applicable master data related to Supply Planning, to achieve optimized supply plans.

Essential duties and responsibilites

  • Develop an executable MPS for Operations, which balances customer service, material availability, plant capacities and targeted inventory levels
  • Develop inventory and safety stock targets to balance supply and demand with service targets
  • Provide long term supply plans, as input into plant capacity and capital planning
  • Proactively identify short term supply and demand gaps and propose solutions; proactively create and deliver appropriate communications to key internal stakeholders and trade partners
  • Develop and action allocation strategies with input from key stakeholders during supply shortages
  • Conduct global product line capacity modelling/analysis
  • Work closely with the Demand Planning to understand world-wide product demand
  • Lead monthly plant Supply Consensus meetings as part of the S&OP process, and work closely with the local Production Planner and Plant Operations to drive alignment of supply plan and production plan, in order to ensure sufficient finished goods supply to meet demand
  • Work closely with regional/local Warehouses to establish inventory stocking levels that meet service targets, and align with global targets
  • Monitor and report key service metrics that support shared objectives between supply chain and manufacturing
  • As product line SME, work with manufacturing to maintain and optimize planning parameters
  • Monitor slow moving and excess inventory, and support customer returns process
  • Support system integrations, new product introductions, product line transfers or product discontinuation projects, as required

Qualifications and skills

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving
  • Ability to effectively work cross functionally, to use influencing skills, build consensus and drive decision making
  • Detail-oriented individual with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Can easily create collaborative relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to set and communicate priorities and work in a dynamic business environment
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Is familiar with MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint), ERP systems, SAP

Education and expierence

  • 2-4 years experience of manufacturing and/or Supply Chain planning experience required
  • Bachelor and / or Master degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or similar discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and processes (supply, demand, capacity and distribution planning and inventory management)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment coordinating multi-discipline activities

Geographical scope

  • Position is based in Dordrecht, the Netherlands
  • Occasional travel to plants within Europe required

Contacts and communication

  • The Supply Planner has a functional relationship (dotted line) with the local Production Planners
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with various internal stakeholders at different levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, preferable in German and Polish
