The Group Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the successful management and implementation of business improvement projects/initiatives across the business by developing and leading an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders. Constantly collects, monitors and analyses data to identify improvement opportunities in both manufacturing and business process areas. This position will help the company in creating a sustainable, long term culture of continuous improvement.

The Group Continuous Improvement Manager reports to the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with key business stakeholders and the Continuous Improvement Managers in the countries to build a sustainable, long term continuous improvement culture
  • Creates annual strategy deployment plans with CI Managers and the COO. Prioritizes improvement opportunities based upon strategy deployment and tactical planning objectives such as growth, service, safety, quality, cost, and cash
  • Responsible for leading teams in the execution of complex Lean Six Sigma projects that deliver significant financial benefits
  • Identifies trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system
  • Leads multiple projects simultaneously, using data and information to break down scenarios to root causes, finding patterns and relationships, and solving problems in a practical, permanent way. In doing so you provide those working on the projects with a clear sense of direction, building teamwork through engagement and aligning towards individual and collective goals
  • Tracks progress of CI Managers on their country specific deployment plans and empowers team members to implement solutions
  • Supports and facilitates cross site, cross functional and cross country learning
  • Building continuous improvement capability through training and implementation of various processes, tools and methods. Acting as the expert on Lean, Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies
  • Monitors and analyses metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
  • Ensuring the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times
  • Driving post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects

Competencies & Skills

  • Masters degree in an engineering or manufacturing related field is desired
  • Minimum accredited Lean Green Belt, preferably Black Belt
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Lean/TPM, preferably in a (food) manufacturing environment

Geographical Scope

  • Responsible for Continuous Improvement across the group (international role)
  • Regular business travel as required

Contacts & Communications

  • Strong written and verbal and cross cultural communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with people on all levels
  • Excellent in English (verbal and written), proficient in German (verbal and written), proficiency in more languages is a plus (NL, FR, PL, SW)
